We’ve heard from so many of you asking for this style of Jiu Jitsu, and we’re excited to finally add it to our evening schedule, making Thursdays at Liberatus all NoGi classes.
NoGi is a dynamic, fast-paced style that focuses on controlling your opponent without the traditional kimono (gi). It’s an amazing way to sharpen your technique, improve grip strength, and add variety to your training routine.

WHAT IS NOGI?
WHAT IS NOGI?
NOGI is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practiced without the traditional kimono (gi). Instead of a jacket, pants, and belt, you’ll wear a rash guard (tight-fitting athletic shirt) and shorts designed for grappling. NOGI tends to be faster-paced, focuses more on grips using your body (rather than the gi fabric), and is a great complement to regular gi training.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TRAINING NOGI?
- Improves speed and reaction time
- Teaches body control and leverage without relying on grips
- Transfers well to wrestling and self-defense scenarios
- Keeps your training fresh and exciting
